That’s right, let’s start with the basics. Grab your Island Farm or Field & Forest uniquely crafted Charcuterie board and let’s begin creating for your gathering of few or of many.
If you’ve come across the word “charcuterie” before and been puzzled, and we wouldn’t blame you. The word looks odd and sounds even odder, and if you’ve never had the opportunity to be in the vicinity of a charcuterie board, seeing it on a menu might have you raising your eyebrows.

Grab your Island Farm or Field & Forest uniquely crafted Charcuterie board and let’s begin creating for your gathering of few or of many. But, wait! We’re out to impress and we want a beautiful culinary memory maker. Right? Well, there’s a particular yet lovely creative process …. to the process. First, let’s set the tone by placing the meat as the centerpiece of your board and build pairings from there. Get wildly yummy with your choice of salami, such as; Salami Etna. An Italian salami made in the USA dashed with pistachio and seasoned with lemon zest. Doesn’t that sound dee-lish? In general, 2 oz of meat per person should be enough. (Unless, you’re at one of my gatherings) Next, let’s add a variety of complementary soft, creamy or hard cheese to elevate the flavors of your meat. Now, we’re almost there. Think of richly colored fruits, bright peppers and fresh herbs. Then, embellish around this work of food art with nuts, crackers and breads. Be sure to include peppers, pickled vegetables and a variety of olives. And…., on the outer ring, the sweets! Yes, the sweets! Add the chocolates, marmalades, jellies and jams! BAM! We just made our first Charcuterie, together. Let’s eat.
